FM 161- "Tree"mendous

Well at this point in the day, I should say Good Afternoon. Little late posting, but better late than never right? Anyway, today's card is from a Friday Mashup challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "Trees".
  2. Create a project with "Heat or Dry Embossing".
  3. Or Mash it up and create a project with "Embossing and Trees".

Ok, so this challenge was extremely hard for me! The only "tree" that I own in my entire collection of stamps is this one. It comes from the House of Haunts stamp set. LOL!! This is a Halloween stamp set. I tried to make it look not too scary by doing the blues with the green. Anyway, this is what I ended up with!

I am sure that if you head over and check out the Design Team's cards this week, you will see much better results for this challenge.

Good Luck and Happy Stamping!

Cheer Up Butter Cup!

Welcome back this week to a new Friday Mashup Challenge. Lisa is our hostess with the mostess this week. The challenge is pretty simple. Make a "Get Well" card using the sketch she's provided.
Like Lisa, I never seem to have that many "Get Well" cards on hand.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

  1. Create a project using the above "Sketch".
  2. Create a " Get Well" Project.
  3. or Mash it Up and create a "Get Well project using the Sketch".

So I have to say that I really stepped out of my "triangle" on this card.

First I still am not very comfortable with these "geometrical shape" cards, but if you don't practice you'll never improve right?

Second, my color combo is So Saffron, Pool Party & Smokey Slate. I NEVER EVER use So Saffron!!! I don't really care for this color, but So Saffron, we did "Get Back Together" on this card!!

Alright, enough of the Taylor Swift innuendos. To make this card, I stamped my triangles in the three different colors, punched them out with the triangle punch and used a dimensional to put them on the card.
Next I stamped "Cheer Up Buttercup" ( usually when your sick you want someone to cheer you up right?)
in Smokey Slate. Cut it out with the Labels framelits and added a heart with some linen thread.
Last, but not least, I finished the card with 3 Smokey Slate candy dots.

Now I challenge you to head over to the Friday Mashup and check out the rest of the Design Team's cute projects.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Celebration Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday to everyone!! Today is an awesome day because it's my son's birthday!!! It's also the middle of the month and that means Stampin' Celebration has a sketch challenge for us!
Can you believe that May has flown by so fast? My kids only have a couple more weeks of school and they will be out for the summer!

This was a fun little sketch. As always, I decided to accomplish two things at once and made my sister a birthday card. Hopefully she won't read this post before she gets it!!

This has got to be one of my most favorite DSP's Stampin' Up has ever had.
I am sooooooooooo sad to see it go. I just love all the different elements about it.
The color combos, the designs, the chevrons. I could go on and on.
Anyway, I decided it would make a cute birthday card.

To make this card, I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch to do the very top piece. I chose a stamp from the SAB stamp set, "See Ya Later". I also used the little banner punch as well.
After I glued everything down, I added some "bling" to the bottom right corner.

Please take time and head over to the Stampin' Connection Blog to check out the other talented Design Team members. Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Stamping!!!

Thanks a Bunch!!

Today is Friday and that means it's Friday Mashup day!!! This week Heidi is our hostess. She's challenged us to pick one of our favorite stamp sets that is retiring and put it to good use.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using "Stencils".
  2. Create a project with a "Retiring Stamp".
  3. Or Mash it up and create a project with " a Stencil and a Retiring Stamp".

The challenge also says to use a "stencil" of some sort. This part was a little harder for me. I decided to pull out the stencils that came with the Create a Banner Kit from the Holiday mini. Remember those? Anyway, I chose the polka dot stencil and used the colors Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi, Pistachio Pudding and Pear Pizzazz,

The stamp set I chose to use is Perfectly Preserved. I fell in love with this stamp set when I first saw it. Canning in the fall is one of my most favorite things to do so of course this stamp set was a must. Now it's your turn to take the challenge. Head over to the Friday Mashup and see what the others on the DT have created. Just a note: You may notice that mine and Lisa's card look very similar. I promise I made my card card before I saw hers, but that just goes to show that great minds think alike!

Happy Stamping!!!

Friday Mashup 158

Good morning! It's Friday and it's time for another Friday Mashup challenge. Holly is our hostess today with a fun little challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the Colors "Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi & Neutral of your choice".
  2. Create a project for "a Child".
  3. Or mash it up and create a project with the "Above Colors for a Child".

I really like the cute little fish in the picture. So once again, I decided to hit two birds with one stone and I made a birthday card for another son. Here it is:

I am so sad to see this stamp set go. I have used it so much! I think it makes a great boy card. This was a pretty simple card to make. I just cut the dsp, glued it to the card. Next I stamped the motorcycle in versa mark and used Pewter Powder (something else retiring) and then I colored things in with a marker. I finished with some button and twine.

Thanks for stamping by. Happy Stamping!

May flowers and new Stampin' Celebration Challenge!

You know, the old saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. Well it definitely has been raining in my neck of the wood. I suppose this has put me in the mood for the brand new Stampin' Celebration Challenge! When I saw the picture, I fell in love. I loved everything about it and I couldn't decided which part I wanted to focus on the most.

If you could see my little boys' room, it's done in red, white and blue along with the sailing theme. CUTE!!!! So where to begin........ well, it's my little boy's birthday later this month so I decided I might as well catch two fish with one hook. Next, I really like the letters in this picture and the anchor was speaking to me as well. I decided I would try to make something built around this.

Here is my end result............Fog horn please..........

Cute! Isn't it? I think so. I decided to use my son's initial wrapped in linen thread. Hopefully that looks a little bit like the rope on docks. Next the anchor was represented in the new DSP in the mini. And as I was working on this card I thought, wouldn't this make a cute baby boy card as well? So I made a second one and changed up the stamp set.

As you can see, it's very easy to make the same card and just switch things around. I challenge all of you to head over to the Stampin' Celebration Blog and give this new challenge a try.

Happy Stamping!!!
