Friday Mashup and Last minute gifts

So I am so sorry I didn't post this post before now. I got all my stuff done on the Friday Mashup blog, but I completely forgot to post on my own blog. Anyway, it's Friday and the means another challenge. Guess what , I am the host this week. Here's the last challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the colors "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay & Crumb Cake."
  2. Create a project with some "Glimmer/Shimmer/Bling. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake & Glimmer."
This week's challenge will run for 2 weeks, so there's extra time to play along with us! Check out what the Design Team created below to help get you inspired! We can't wait to see what you create... Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

When I thought about this post, I decided to cover that last minute packaging that we like to do. Everything needs just the right touch. Here is my project:

Although it may not look like it, this was a fairly easy project. Stampin' Up sells these cute little gift boxes with a window already in them. I was still stuck on last week's challenge of using a window sheet, so I decided to try the "shaker" idea on this box. It adds a fun little dimension. I also needed to include some colors in my project so I made some flags with right colors, slapped them on the box and finished it off with a button. Now it's your turn to head over to The Friday Mashup and take the challenge.

Good Luck and Happy Stamping!!

"Chilly" Friday Mashup!

So I apologize for the lack of blogging I have been doing lately. The holidays have kept me pretty busy, but my Christmas shopping is done so I hope to post a more often. Anyway, as you already know, it's Friday and that means It's Friday Mashup time. I love this weeks challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a "Winter themed project (Non Christmas)."
  2. Create a project using "Embossing (Dry or Heat). "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Winter Project using Embossing."

When I saw this idea, I knew what I wanted to do immediately. A few years ago, I made some wood letters with my mom and sisters. At the time I worked with what I had, but I've never really loved the outcome. Here is a picture.
Sorry, it's kind of a dark picture.

From the moment I saw the Winter Frost DSP in the Holiday Catalog, I knew I was smitten. I had to find something to use the paper on sooooooooooo, I decided to redo my "WINTER" letters.

Are you ready for the outcome? Drum Roll Please.............................

Ahhhhhhhhhh! They turned out so cute. Now these letters feel like WINTER!! It's hard to tell in the picture, but "W" is done in that pretty foil paper and the rest have glitter paper, rhinestones and silver ribbon on them. What a great way to repurpose something.

Now it's your turn to head over to the Friday Mashup and get your chill on.
Happy Stamping!!

Friday Mashup 138

Good Morning!! It's Friday and that means it Friday Mashup day!!
This was a real fun challenge.

Sketch by: Tara

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the above "Sketch."
  2. Create a project using "Window/Transparency Sheets. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "using the Sketch & Window Sheets."

So as you can see, I used the sketch to base my card on. In order to incorporate the window, I decided to make a "Shaker Card". You take a piece of cardstock and cut a window sheet the exact same size. Next, I used washi tape around all four edges, but before I put the final edge of washi tape on, I put some shapes to float around inside the card. It's a fun little change to a normal card.

Head over to the Friday Mashup and see what things you can come up with.

Happy Stamping!!

Baby Card

Good Morning and welcome to December!! I apologize for taking a break from blogging. I've had a lot on my plate lately and I'm not just talking about Thanksgiving dinner. Anyway, this is a card I made for a friend who had a sweet little baby boy a few weeks ago.

As I've said before, one of my most favorite places to find inspiration is from baby clothes.

First I will show you the card I made.

I dug out one of my retired stamp sets for the dump truck. I love the way this card turned out. Now here is the card next to the outfit I gave her.

Do you see how you can use anything to inspire a card? The next time you are giving a gift, I challenge you to use the colors or design of the outfit to inspire your card.

Have a great first week of December and Happy Stamping!!
