Chalkboard Technique

Have you tried the chalkboard technique? I was a little nervous at first, but it's so easy. Here is my card I made.
Just take any image, ink it up with white ink and then stamp directly onto your black cardstock. Next you take a sponge and lightly rubbed around the edges and across the top to create the "chalk dust" look. If you haven't tried it, you should! Speaking of chalkboards you should head on over to The Friday Mashup!, they have a cool A,B,C.....1,2,3 challenge this week.

Happy Stamping!

Beautiful Leaves

A week ago, I went four wheelin' and the leaves are just starting to change where I live. I have been dying to make a card with this stamp set, "Wonderfall" I also love that Stampin' Up has brought back some of these beautiful jewel tones.
Here is today's card.
When Crushed Curry was an "In Color" , I was pregnant and I hated it. Since then I have repented and I think  it's becoming my new favorite yellow!!! Everything about this card is fun!!!

3,2,1...Blast Off!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I really like this stamp set. Especially for little boys. This card is a waterfall card. When you pull the tab on the bottom, it makes it look like all the things are flying off into space.
I stamped the space ship in versa mark and embossed it in pewter embossing powder. It's so pretty! All the planets & stars are embossed as well.

Happy Stamping!!!

Mojo Monday 308

It's Monday!! Sorry for the late post. The kiddos started school today!! Yeah!!! for mom, she survived another Summer. Anyway I started off the morning with some mojo. Here is the sketch

A neighbor mentioned she needed to send a get well card to her granddaughter who broke her leg. So I decided to help her out by making this card.

The Stamp set I used was "Tag It" If you don't have this stamp set, you need it. Not only is it cute, but it's also Stampin' Up's Ronald McDonald Stamp set for the year. Every time this stamp set is purchased, SU donates $3 to a Ronald McDonald House.

Isn't it cute, if you don't have it, head on over to my store and get it!!
Happy Stamping!!!

The Friday Mashup 124

First of all, it's time for a small bragging moment. Last week I played Friday Mashup and they picked me for
Remember this card? It's all about the Candy and this week it certainly was. You can check out the post HERE!

Thanks for indulging me for a few minutes. Now for today's card. Another Friday Mashup!!
This one is based on a layout and I'll be honest. I was stumped.

This is actually a very simple card, but fun as well. I love the color combo, Island Indigo, Garden Green & Rose Red. I haven't used Garden Green in ages, but it worked today. I also used the window sheet from the Quatrefancy DSP. Head on over to the Friday Mashup and see what you can come up with!

 Happy Stamping!!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge

So in the next few weeks, my son is turning 12!! Ahh.... I'm not old enough to have a 12 year old. Anyway, I thought I would make him a birthday card. I actually really like how this card turned out.
It's based on this sketch.
Instead of paper, I decided to use Washi tape to make the cross action. Have you tried Washi taper? It's so easy to work with. It rips really easy and it's very forgiving. You can pull it off your paper and reposition it if you mess up!! If you haven't tried any, head on over to my online store to get some. Click HERE!

Happy Stamping!!!

Convention 2013 Swap

As I was looking through things, I realized that I hadn't posted my convention swap for Stampin' Up Convention. I really liked what I came up with this year.

My favorite part of this card is the Toucan!!!! He's so cute!! I also used the new "Core'dinations" Cardstock from Stampin' Up. If you haven't tried this stuff, you need to. It's really simple to use. You just run a piece of it through your embossing folder and then take a sanding block and rub off the top layer. In the end you get gorgeous results. If you're interested in trying some, you can find it HERE on my online store.

"Wheely Sweet"

This card was seriously out of my comfort zone, but I was trying a challenge. I used Gorgeous Grunge to do the background. It's stamped in versa mark and then embossed with black powder. The color combo was also a little bit different for me, but I like how it turned out in the end.

Happy Stamping!!

Mojo Monday Baby Style

Today's card is for one of my club girls who is having a baby. However, it's a SURPRISE!! She doesn't know what she's having.... so the card had to be neutral but still super cute. When I saw this stamp set in the Stampin' Up Catalog, I knew it was a must have.
The color combo is Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding & Coastal Cabana. I also loved using the Ruffle stretch trim. It went around the circle so nicely!!

Happy Stamping!!

It's all about the candy!!

Today's card comes from another challenge. The Friday Mashup!! You can find their blog HERE. They have a cool new technique to try called Color Blocking! Literally you use your clear blocks to stamp with. You should try it, I had lots of fun. Here's my card for today.
You can never prepare too early for Halloween!! Anyone hungry for some candy corn? Anyway, I used the smallest clear block to stamp my 9 patch. Then I used the stamp set Halloween Hello to add some flare. Finally I finished out with the "candy" of course, the embellishments. Enjoy!!!

O Scrap!!

Today I have a scrapbook page for you!. I love to scrapbook. I love how it turned out. That's the great thing about creating. You start with one thing in your mind and something completely different ends up on the page sometimes.
I used Strawberry Splash & Coastal Cabana. I also used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set. If you don't have this one, you seriously need to get it. It's a must have.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana

Carbs, Schmarbs!

Carbs, Schmarbs. Wow that's a mouthful. I couldn't even spell the word "Schmarbs" until I saw this stamp set. Anyway, today's card is a birthday card! However, the fun thing is, this is not a traditional birthday stamp set.
I call this "re-purposing" (is that a new word?) It's where you take a stamp set and give it a different purpose than was originally intended. This is great because it allows you to get more use out of your stamp sets. I also need to give a shout out to Bermuda Bay!!! Eeeeeek I'm in love with this color. I don't think I will ever get over it!
Happy Stamping!!

Card Recipe
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla

Stampin' Celebration Challenge

Today is a Stampin' Celebration Challenge. If you want to join in the fun click here.

Here is today's inspiration.
Isn't it Gorgeous?

I decided to dig out an oldie, but goodie stamp set. Delicate Doilies.

I don't know why, but I love this stamp set. It's a pretty basic layout. I also did the "Rock N Roll Technique on the doilies. So fun!

So this morning as I was pouring Fruit Loops for my little boy, I realized that the colors of this card are an exact match to the colors in the cereal. It made me laugh.
Needless to say, I still love this card. This is the card I made for my mom's birthday. I used a fun technique where you sponge the inside of your embossing folder and then run it though the Big Shot.

Bermuda Bay-Love at first sight!

Ok, so I have a confession to make.... I am in love with Bermuda Bay!! Hands down this is the best color SU has added to their color family!!! It is so versatile. It can be bright and happy, but it's also cool and collected like in this Snowflake card.
Wouldn't you just love to get this card? Everything about it is crisp and neat. I stamped the snowflake in silver ink, cut it out with framelits (yes ladies, there are framelits) and then added some bling with the Frosted Finished Embellishements.
