Friday Mashup and Last minute gifts

So I am so sorry I didn't post this post before now. I got all my stuff done on the Friday Mashup blog, but I completely forgot to post on my own blog. Anyway, it's Friday and the means another challenge. Guess what , I am the host this week. Here's the last challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the colors "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay & Crumb Cake."
  2. Create a project with some "Glimmer/Shimmer/Bling. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake & Glimmer."
This week's challenge will run for 2 weeks, so there's extra time to play along with us! Check out what the Design Team created below to help get you inspired! We can't wait to see what you create... Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!

When I thought about this post, I decided to cover that last minute packaging that we like to do. Everything needs just the right touch. Here is my project:

Although it may not look like it, this was a fairly easy project. Stampin' Up sells these cute little gift boxes with a window already in them. I was still stuck on last week's challenge of using a window sheet, so I decided to try the "shaker" idea on this box. It adds a fun little dimension. I also needed to include some colors in my project so I made some flags with right colors, slapped them on the box and finished it off with a button. Now it's your turn to head over to The Friday Mashup and take the challenge.

Good Luck and Happy Stamping!!

"Chilly" Friday Mashup!

So I apologize for the lack of blogging I have been doing lately. The holidays have kept me pretty busy, but my Christmas shopping is done so I hope to post a more often. Anyway, as you already know, it's Friday and that means It's Friday Mashup time. I love this weeks challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a "Winter themed project (Non Christmas)."
  2. Create a project using "Embossing (Dry or Heat). "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Winter Project using Embossing."

When I saw this idea, I knew what I wanted to do immediately. A few years ago, I made some wood letters with my mom and sisters. At the time I worked with what I had, but I've never really loved the outcome. Here is a picture.
Sorry, it's kind of a dark picture.

From the moment I saw the Winter Frost DSP in the Holiday Catalog, I knew I was smitten. I had to find something to use the paper on sooooooooooo, I decided to redo my "WINTER" letters.

Are you ready for the outcome? Drum Roll Please.............................

Ahhhhhhhhhh! They turned out so cute. Now these letters feel like WINTER!! It's hard to tell in the picture, but "W" is done in that pretty foil paper and the rest have glitter paper, rhinestones and silver ribbon on them. What a great way to repurpose something.

Now it's your turn to head over to the Friday Mashup and get your chill on.
Happy Stamping!!

Friday Mashup 138

Good Morning!! It's Friday and that means it Friday Mashup day!!
This was a real fun challenge.

Sketch by: Tara

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the above "Sketch."
  2. Create a project using "Window/Transparency Sheets. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "using the Sketch & Window Sheets."

So as you can see, I used the sketch to base my card on. In order to incorporate the window, I decided to make a "Shaker Card". You take a piece of cardstock and cut a window sheet the exact same size. Next, I used washi tape around all four edges, but before I put the final edge of washi tape on, I put some shapes to float around inside the card. It's a fun little change to a normal card.

Head over to the Friday Mashup and see what things you can come up with.

Happy Stamping!!

Baby Card

Good Morning and welcome to December!! I apologize for taking a break from blogging. I've had a lot on my plate lately and I'm not just talking about Thanksgiving dinner. Anyway, this is a card I made for a friend who had a sweet little baby boy a few weeks ago.

As I've said before, one of my most favorite places to find inspiration is from baby clothes.

First I will show you the card I made.

I dug out one of my retired stamp sets for the dump truck. I love the way this card turned out. Now here is the card next to the outfit I gave her.

Do you see how you can use anything to inspire a card? The next time you are giving a gift, I challenge you to use the colors or design of the outfit to inspire your card.

Have a great first week of December and Happy Stamping!!

Gobble, Gobble, It's Friday Mashup Time!

Yeah!! It's Friday which means it's the end of the busy week. It also means that it's time for another
Friday Mashup Challenge!!

I loved this weeks challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "Gingham."
  2. Create a project using "Kraft or Crumb Cake. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with Gingham & Kraft."

Gingham is one of my most favorite things. If you look "Gingham Christmas" up on Pinterest, there are all sorts of fun things to see. So now for my card, yet another Christmas Card again!

I really like how this card turned out!! I wasn't sure about this wreath stamp set when I first got it, but it's turns out that I have really liked it. In order to add "Gingham" to my card, I had to create it. I have a roller stamp that is Gingham, but it was giving me grief. I ended up using some Whisper White Taffeta (3/8) ribbon and stamping on it.

It the end, things worked out. My favorite part of the card is the buttons. It was fun to use a mixture of things.

So, now it's your turn to head over to The Friday Mashup and take the challenge. Because of Thanksgiving, this challenge will run for two weeks.

Happy Stamping!

Here he is. I saw something like him on Stampin' Connection and had to try my own version.

Wouldn't every child love to see this sitting on their plate on Thanksgiving day? I made his feathers with the Gift bow die. Go ahead and try your hand at making a Turkey this holiday.

Bike Race meets Birthday Boy

Good Morning everyone!! Today's card is inspired by several things,
1st- It's my brother's birthday today!!
2nd, he plays this game on his phone called Bike Race.
It's a funny little game where this bike bounces all over the place. Most of the time, it flips upside down.
3rd- This card was inspired by Shelley Gardner, the CEO of Stampin' Up.
She showed this card during her presentation at Convention. When I saw it, I new that was the birthday card for my brother.

I basically cased her card. It's called a Spinner Card. You use pennies, to make an object spin on the card.

Do you see the slot next to the motorcycle? That is what allows the motorcycle to twist and turn on the card. If you're interested in making one of these cards, just search "Spinner Card" on Youtube.

In the making of this card I used several stamp sets, of course, REV UP THE FUN, if you have boys this is a must. GORGEOUS GRUNGE! If you're a stamper this is a basic set. Last, but not least, the "happy birthday" comes from YOU'RE MY HERO. Also another must have if you have boys.

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Happy Stamping!!!

Mojo Monday is on Santa's List

Good Morning and welcome to a brand new week. I love Monday's because things feel fresh and new. Anyway, to start the day off, we have a challenge from Mojo Monday.

My card today comes from Santa's List. I fell in love with this stamp set when I saw it. It's the most perfect Santa.

So the stamp sets I used were Santa's List and the new one that goes with the Pop n Place stuff. The paper is Season of Style.

Hope you enjoy this card today!
Happy Stamping!!

Feel Better!

So it's Tuesday and that means another card. My niece is having some surgery done and so today's card is dedicated to her.

It was kind of hard to think about what a teenage girl would like, plus it had to be something that could be sent through the mail.

If you're having a downer day, I hope this makes you feel better too.

Happy Stamping!

Friday Mashup!!

Welcome to Friday!! My kids have the day off, so we are going to have some fun, but first we need to check this week's Friday Mashup!!

Today's Challenge
Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with a "Game/Woodsy type Animal (Deer, Moose, Turkey, etc). "
  2. Create a project using a "Woodgrain look. "
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "project with Woodgrain and a Woodsy animal image. "

So after reading the challenge again, I guess my take is a little different. I didn't have any woodsy type animal, but I thought to myself, people hunt other things so..............

Rhino's! This one is very cute, but in real life I wouldn't want to meet one of these in person!
I also used the woodgrain folder to mimick "rhino skin" Have you ever seen a rhino up close at the Zoo? Their skin is very wrinkly. I know, it's a stretch, but what do you a do?

Head on over to the Friday Mashup and get your "Game" on today!

Happy Stamping!!

Festive Flurry Meets Mojo Monday

Good Morning Everyone!! We are finally in November. Can you believe it?
Today's card is a Mojo Monday Challenge. Yesterday, it snowed where I live so that was my inspiration for my card.

Here's the Mojo Monday Sketch

Fun!! I love the ideas of using a tag on a card. So here's my take on the sketch. Remember, it was frosty and snowy outside yesterday.

I can't get enough of this DSP. It's so frosty & cold. It reminds me of winter. Plus the foil paper in the packet is a bonus. I love how it shines. I decided to stamp the snowflakes in versamark and then used the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I layered the snowflakes on Coastal Cabana CS and then put a jewel in the middle.

Here is a close up of those snowflakes.

It's so pretty to see them shimmer!!

Now that you've seen what I created, head on over to the Mojo Monday and get your mojo on!!
Happy Stamping!

It's Friday Mashup!!

It's Friday and that means another Friday Mashup!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "the Sketch."
  2. Create a project using "Chevrons."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with the above Sketch & Chevrons. "

This was a fun challenge. I once saw some Chevrons made out of paper. So I went to Youtube and found a tutorial on it. It's super easy. Here's the link to that video.

Here's my card.

So I folded the paper chevrons out of DSP. I then sewed them onto the card. If you've never tried sewing on a card, it's really lots of fun.  I used the honeycomb embossing folder, Really Great Greeting stamp set and a Crushed Curry button.

So now it's your turn. Head on over to the Friday Mashup and get your Chevron on!!

Happy Stamping!!!

October Club Projects

Good Morning Everyone!!! Today I am going to show you the projects we did for my club.
Have you heard about the envelope punch board?

It's one of the newest tools that Stampin' Up has to offer!! This thing will make over 50 different sized envelopes. Who knew making an envelope could be so much fun, but that's not all.

This punch board also makes cards and boxes. You heard me right boxes. Here's what we made in club this month.

This is the whole ensemble, It's a box that hold 4- 4x4 cards and matching envelopes.

This is an up close picture of the box. Look at those leaves, the different textures are so fun. Also I love the burlap ribbon. It's really nice because both sides are finished. It won't fray and have you noticed, burlap is everywhere!!

This is the matching card. It's a simple design and features the Sweater Weather DSP.

Notice how I put a little Velcro dot on the back of the box. This keeps everything inside, nice and snug. Wouldn't this be a great gift to receive? Or better yet, wouldn't this be a great gift to give?

There are several different Youtube videos on how to make a box. Just search "Envelope Punch Board" and you"ll find many ways to use your new toy!!

Happy Stamping and Enjoy your day!!

Thank You Mickey

We just got back from Disneyland and we had such a wonderful time. My In-Laws & Brother-in-law went with us to help out with the kids. I thought it would be nice to say "Thank You" in style.

My favorite thing about this card is the simplicity of it. It's so crisp and clean. The stamp is
"A Dozen Thoughts" This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets and guess what, it's on sale this week for 25% off.

It's Stampin' Up's Birthday and for the next 5 days they have chosen 25 stamps for 25% off.

What She Wore Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! As my kids would say, it's camel day (hump day) middle of the week. Anyway, today's card is based off another one of my daughter's outfits.

When I saw this onesie, my thought was  "How Sweet". I'm not usually a bird person, but I couldn't resist this one.

I really like the way this card turned out.

The colors are Soft Sky (1st time I've ever used this one), So Saffron, Blushing Bride & Calypso Coral. It ended up being a very simple card, but I decided that was okay. Sometimes we just need something simple.

I also used Betsy's Blossoms, A Dozen Thoughts & Everything Elenor Stamp sets. Both the Betsy's Blossoms & A Dozen Thoughts are on SALE right now for 25% off. It's Stampin' Up's birthday and they are celebrating by putting 25 stamp sets on Sale!!

The Happiest Place on Earth--DISNEYLAND!!!

So we just spent a wonderful week in the happiest place on earth. DISNEYLAND!!! It was so much fun. Of course as I was prepping for this vacation, I knew that I would need a signature book. It was something that needed to be durable and hold up. MDS to the rescue!!!  I made a signature book out of the swatch books that Stampin' Up sells through MDS.

This was so easy to do. I needed 5 books so I made the first one, copied it 5 times and then changed the name to individualize it for each kid. Next I printed it off and a week later I had me some fun signature books!!!

On some of the pages I put characters that I knew we would see and then I left most of them blank for the surprise visits. The only thing I would recommend would be to replace the screw with a ring.

If you're interested in some of these pretty little guys, email me I would love to personalize it and get them printed for you!!

Happy Stamping!!!

It's Friday Mashup!!!

Today is Friday and guess what that means. It's Friday Mashup Day! I also have some exciting news. I've been chosen to be part of the
Friday Mashup Design Team.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH! (Imagine me screaming) I am so excited for this opportunity.
Take a few minutes to visit their blog and participate in today's challenge.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with a  "Tree or Leaves."
  2. Create a project using the "Color Orange."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Project with Leaves/ Tree & the Color Orange."

This is my first challenge. One of my most favorite things are candied apples.

This one is an "Apple Pie" apple. These things are to die for and so is the topper on the bag.

I had fun using the Autumn accents die with the embossing folders.
You also can't go wrong with that burlap ribbon.
Check out the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the other designers have created this week.
They are super talented!!

Day 13- Happy "Owl"oween

Ahh!! The last day of our  Halloween Treats. Hopefully you've been inspired and you still have plenty of time to make all these wonderful goodies we've seen.

Today's project is certainly the best. No Halloween season would be complete without a visit from an owl.

Isn't he adorable? I purchased him at the local wood store. His body is done in the Witches' Brew DSP. I used the Black & Orange glitter for his wings and beak. I even painted his little eyes with my white craft pad. You can do anything with Stampin' Up product!!

This little guy would complete anyone's Halloween collection.
I hope you've enjoyed this little adventure we've been on. I hope to do more things like this in the future. In the mean time, come back everyday to check out a different project.

I feel like I might see some scrapbook pages on the horizon!!

Happy Stamping!

Day 12- Bag O' Candy

Good Morning Everyone!! Today's project is featuring the cute little muslin bags in the Holiday Catalog. Be sure to pick some of these up.

I've seen numerous ways to decorate these. All I did was use a sponge dauber to make the dots. I then cute out the letters "BOO" and used the negative to make a stencil. It was pretty simple and didn't take much time. What an easy project!! We love these!!!

Go ahead, give it a try!!

Happy Stamping

Day 11- Halloween Wreath

So along, with the Halloween Banner we made earlier this month, you can also make this super cute wreath.

Jill Olsen, who is in my upline, sent us a video on how she made these.. I thought they were so cute. It's a Halloween Wreath made with paper. I went to the local box store and bought a 6 inch foam wreath. I then took 6- 6x12 pieces of DSP and cut them into 1/2 inch strips. Next you curl them with your bone folder. Last, you start putting them on the wreath one by one with a push pin. Just start filling in the space and before you know it, you have this cute little wreath.

Enjoy!!

Happy Stamping!!!

Day 10- Hand Sanatizer Box

A couple of years ago, I saw these cute little boxes that hold hand sanitizer. They were created by the very talented Erica Cerwin. You can visit her blog here.

Aren't they stinkin' cute? Erica has a wonderful tutorial on how to make these. Don't you think these would make a great teacher gift for Halloween?

Try it out and see what you come up.

Happy Stamping!!
