Ahoy Matey.......tis Friday!

Ahoy Matey! Tis Friday and it be time for another challenge from The Friday Mashup! Ok, enough of the pirate talk. However, it is Friday and Lisa is bringing our Mashup this week. It's a Nautical theme mixed with a one layer card. This was so hard for me, but I did it!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using a "Nautical Theme".
  2. Create a "One Layer Card".
  3. Or mash it up and create a project with the "One Layer Card with a Nautical Theme".

Ok, so Nautical is sooooooooo in right. Stampin' Up has the cutest DSP that would totally fit this challenge. However, I have not had the chance to order it yet. So I went back to the drawing board trying to figure out what I was going to do with this theme. I don't really tend to buy stamp sets that are nautical.

Then it hit, what is more nautical than a pirate right?
Arrrrrrrrrrrr, then my idea came to me and this be what it is.........

I must admit, the "one layer" was more of a challenge than anything. I started with some Crumb Cake cardstock. Next I took my Versa Mark ink pad and used it with the "X" marks the spot stamp. Then I stamped the cute little pirate in Early Espresso. I colored him in with Pacific Point, Real Read and Basic Black. I stamped the little parrot on his head, because who doesn't need a parrot on their head? The last thing I did was add some ribbon. I hope this doesn't break the "one layer" rule, but I needed some dimension!!!!!!

Well, I hope you like it. I would strongly suggest you head over to the Friday Mashup
and see what inspires you.

And like always, Happy Stamping or Walk the Plank. Whatever floats your boats today!!j
Hee Hee, another pun!!

Have a Great Day!!!

  1. I really like the pirate and treasure map theme you created on your card. I don't think the ribbon breaks the One Layer rule at all! Great job!
