Friday Mashup 153

Good Morning everyone!! It's Friday and Sara is bringing us this week's challenge over at The Friday Mashup! I really liked this challenge. It was water coloring and just let me say, watercoloring is not my my thing. However, I tried it and I am pretty pleased with the results.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the colors "Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi & Perfect Plum".
  2. Create a project using "an Aqua Painter or a Blender Pen to create a Watercolor Effect".
  3. Or mash it up and create a project with the "Colors above & a Watercolor Effect".

Here is my card

So believe me when I say, I am not an artist. I usually try to steer clear of water coloring. However, I do have a few tips to help you out.
-Always try to use water color paper. It allows things to blend better than regular paper.
-I like to use blender pens as opposed to Aqua Painters. I think they are easier to control. That having been said, I did use an aqua painter to do the yellow flower on my card.
- Last, take your time. This is not a technique that can be rushed through. Always remember to do some shading and blend from dark to light.

Well not it's your turn. Head over to the challenge blog and see what the other Design team members have done.

And always remember, Happy Stamping!!

  3. Lynda, for not liking water coloring your flowers sure turned out great! I don't use those flowers very often because I can't ever seem to get them to turn out right no matter what technique I use, but yours are fabulous! Great use of the colors and technique. :)
